While out and about yesterday, I stumbled across this set of mid century modern lounge chairs. They were a steal: $25 a chair! They’re Danish and circa 1940s/early 50s and need only minor repairs plus a re-upholstering at some point. There is a woman here who combs through estate sales and then, literally, sells her finds on a street corner (she has a small building as well but places most of her finds in her parking lot which sits on a busy corner ). Her pricing is really great because this is her retirement hobby and she wants to move merchandise so that she can go to more sales and buy more stuff!
I have to say that one great advantage of living in an area that appreciates more “rustic aesthetics” is that when a mid century piece surfaces, its dirt cheap! If this set had been sitting out on a corner back in our old California digs, the price tag would’ve been much greater.
