I’m ecstatic to finally be able to share my first full sized quilt here! Quilting is a new skill that I pursued when we were living in the northeastern corner of Montana. Tucked away in the unpretentious town of Glasgow is The Plaid Square, an adorable quilting store with the most wonderful mix of contemporary and traditional prints. The owner, Della Gardner, is an amazing quilter and even more amazing person. After taking the shop’s beginner’s class two winters ago, last summer I decided to take the plunge and make a twin sized quilt for our tiniest Sprout. I bought the pattern and fabric there in Glasgow and managed to finish right before we packed up and moved to Colorado. I love the cherry fabric that isn’t too juvenile but still just right for our little girl’s room. Hopefully it will “grow” with her and she will still like it when she is older. And, the striated quilting thread that Della suggested is one of my most favorite details!
As soon as we are more settled, I am hoping to make quilts for the boys as well as one for our bedroom. I’m crossing my fingers that my plan will happen sooner rather than later!
